Star program
Hi, I currently owned a co-op. I am filing a star program for my co-op. In the future if I buy a house, can I file a star on my house? TIA

Re: Star program
yes - you can file STAR on your primary residence only. Since it doesn't transfer, you'd have to apply for STAR for the new house.

When do you have to apply? I'm in the town of Hempstead.

each town has a different deadline. It's best if you call your town assessor's office and ask them what the deadline is and where to get the application if you didn't get one in the mail.

I think you may have missed the deadline. I believe Nassau County is January 1st deadline. Suffolk County is March 1st. I would double check with Town of Hempstead though.
