Pediatrician In Bellmore or East Meadow

I'm looking to switch pediatricians for my kids. I've read great reviews on Dr. Jassey in Bellmore. Does his practice have weekend hours, is there a long waiting time, is he and his staff both patient and thorough? I presently go to a solo practice. Although the doctor seems to be good, I think the doctor can listen a bit more and explain things more instead of walking away. Often times we have to come back because a cough hasn't gotten better or a fever hasn't gone down, a big part due to the doctor not explaining how long the fever or cough might last. On weekends when my kids are sick and have to see the covering doctor, we are always told to hurry because their office is almost closing and have to travel far. So if anyone has any insight or thoughts on Dr. Jassey's group, I appreciate it.

I was also looking into Dr. Oppenheimer's group but heard that there were long waiting times.

I heard great things about Dr. Zaso but I wasn't sure if he was a solo practice and if anyone knows how coverage works when he's off.

We go to Oppenheimer, et al and it's hit or miss with the wait time, IMO. The practice is huge (due in large part to LIF) and I think they've gotten too big for their britches.

We use Dr. Jassey and we love him!! I've had to wait a few times in his office...sometimes for more than an hour because there are emergencies with kids...but he is great and the rest of the staff is awesome!

Hi!... We just got back from our 3 month visit with Dr. Jassey... we love him and the nurses there... granted we have only been there four times, however, we get lots of time with the Dr. and he answers all of our questions without it seeming to be a hassle... we have waited longest, 30 minutes... they actually called us once when they were running an hour behind and told us to come in later.... We got the rec. from our neighbor who has two kids... she was thrilled with the way they handled her DS reflux and in an emergency saw her off hours... FM if you want more info... :)

I love Oppenheimer's practice. I know that people have said they have had long waits, but so far I have been lucky.

We use Dr. Jassey and love him. DS is 10.5 months. He takes his time with each visit. He answer all my questions. And trust me I have a lot. You don't feel rushed. My son loves him. He take time to talk & palay with ds. The nurses are great. I only waited long one time b/c there was an emergency. I would definitely recommend them.

We use Dr. Oppenheimer, Marchitelli, Fasano & Korn. When they were babies the waits weren't bad, but they are getting worse and worse. We've waited an hour in the waiting room and then another 30 mins in the exam room. I'm dreading our appt next month.

But I don't feel rushed when I finally get to see them.
