Just got my
baby doppler from Heartones last night!!! DH and I listened to the baby before we went to bed. It was really cool. I was really starting to get discouraged because I'm 19 weeks already and haven't felt any movement yet. This definately makes me feel better. Even if I can't feel my baby, at least I can listen to him/her. It really made me feel closer to the baby.
Now that DH is gone to work, I'm going to listen alone and time the heartrate. He doesn't want to know what we're having, but I'm still trying to figure it out.

I got mine frmo babybeat. I was so happy I did. I felt really great and was worried about the baby. Its so reassuring!!

So fun! We were going to get one but since my pregnancy is high risk I have been seeing 2 drs a week since I was 18 weeks so we get to hear the heartbeat every week...

I have one from Heartones.com also. My daughter hates when I use it. She gives me huge jabs like "shut that damn thing off" Even my husband saw how she tried to get it away from her. It seems like it really disturbs her. So I've limited my frequency. Must be sensitive to the soundwaves or something. It is fun listening though.....

I got mine from here, it has the counter for the bmp too, each month the rent on it decreases http://www.fetalsure.com/
I've read that the babies can hear it once they are older and it sounds similar to a helicopter hovering over your house. Some babies will move away from it.
We use it every other night and only for about 30 seconds. I know exactly where the heart is so I put it right in that spot, turn it on, listen, get a count of bpm and then shut it off.

WOW, I didn't know this. Thanks so much for the info. I don't want to annoy my little one so much before he/she is even born!! I'll limit my listening too.

We had bought one when we were pregnant with our first child and it stunk. All we heard was static and nothing else. We had gotten it at BRU and returned it a few days later.

I have one from Babybeat and its great! It has the digial readout for the heartbeat, so we can always see what the heartbeat is (its usually around 160-165)..
Sue, I think the ones in the store are c r a p. They don't work at all, they are not strong enough.
