My birth story 2/13/08

On Tuesday the 12th I was induced due to my pressure being a little high. I went into Southside at around 8 pm and the dr inserted the cervedil. She said that she'd check on my progress in 12 hours to see if I needed more, or if we would start a pitocin drip. Within 20 minutes I was getting contractions every two minutes (OMG!), and the dr decided that after 90 minues of this (yes, 90) that she would remove the cervadil since that was all I needed to start up labor.

Fast forward to 5 hours later when I got the epi..what a relief (or so I thought, but I'll get to that later) and with a few pushes and 12 hours of labor our came Ethan Joshua in all his screaming glory.

Fast forward to Friday when we went home, and I thought that I had strained my neck nursing him. I started getting really bad headaches to the point that I needed to lie down all day so Dh took the majority of the baby duty and had to feed him formula. Saturday night I called the dr since I could take the pain from the headaches and she told me to go to the ER immediately, that it was most likely a spinal headached caused by the epidural. I would up readmitted into the hospital, and my parents wound up taking the baby to their house (never will my heart break as much as it did that night). I had to do what's called caffiene drips from an IV to take the headaches away and finally they did!

I'm now all better and 100% ready to by Ethans mommy!!

I pray that no one had to go thru these headaches, but if you get them, make sure you call your dr asap.
