hors d'oeuvres
I would like to get a few ideas for smoked salmon and something with shrimp (not whole shrimp) for hors d'oeuvres.
Does smoked salmon go woth cream cheese? I don't like smoked salmon so I don't know really...
TIA!

this looks like an easy recipe and you can serve it with those little loaves of sliced bread or fancy crackers

Re: hors d'oeuvres
I don't eat shrimp (allergic) but at the last party I was at someone made this and everyone loved it:
INGREDIENTS 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional) 1 (4 ounce) can small shrimp, drained 2 green onions, finely chopped 1/2 (12 ounce) jar cocktail sauce
DIRECTIONS In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, lemon juice and hot sauce until well blended and fluffy. Mix in the shrimp and green onions. Form into a mound on a medium serving platter. Cover and chill in the refrigerator 1 hour, or until firm. Top with cocktail sauce before serving.
