Re: Locks of Love?

You can go to any Salon and send it in yourself. The info is on the website. Or they have a list of participating salons on there that may send it in for you.
I am a hairdresser and do it all the time and have my clients send it in. I know the rules and I think most salons will too.

Re: Locks of Love?

I did it where I get my hair cut regularly and just sent it in myself as described above. Make sure to take before and after pics!

Re: Locks of Love?

I have 2 friends who did this, both had the hari cut at a salon, and put in a baggie. I know one went to a location in the city where she lives, not sure about #2.

Re: Locks of Love?

You can do either Locks of Love or Wigs for Kids. Locks of love doesn't give wigs to everyone, just kids that are terminally ill and won't get their hair back. Wigs for kids gives to all kids.

I did a fundraiser this year called St. Baldricks (for childhood cancer research) where I shaved my head. I donated my hair by mailing it in. The hair just has to be wrapped (put in a braid) and just make sure it meets the length requirement. And your hair can be dyed. They will dye it back. You can go to the websites (google then) and they will give you instructions.

So you don't have to go to a certain salon. Although some salons will give you a free haircut if you will be donating it, but I don't know where they are. I just heard it through people.

Hope this helps.
PS Heres a before and after of my shaved head..hehe (its green bc I dyed it green along with the organizers of this event)

(sorry so big) before and after

Re: Locks of Love?

APril, you are AWESOME!

On the LoL website, they have salons who do free haircuts if you're foing locks of love. I did it twice in the past 2 years, had my regular place cuit off hte ponytail and sent it in a baggie in a padded envelope.
