Suffolk Job Fair ??
Anyone going to the one on March 8th? Has anyone every been to one? What should I expect?

i am going.
i went last year. There are booths set up in the gym with different schools and it says what they are hiring for.
You wait on line for interviews.

Is this job fari for minorities only? I think I saw an advertisement and it stated that it was for minorities?

nope. it is a job fair sponsered by Boces. It was in the NY Times and you had to send in a resume to get an invitation.

Not to bum you out, but I think you should be prepared: The one and only time I went to a Long Island job fair, it was SO crowded that I parked about 8 blocks away from the school. I got into the gym, and it was FULL of potential teachers, all of us in suits.
I couldn't even get near the tables to put resumes in the boxes. I think I gave out about 20 of them and called it a day.

its for culturally diverse teachers. My white male DH went to the eastern one this past saturday -he had two scheduled interviews. they cant have a job fair just for minorities - that would be reverse discrimination.

My white DH went to and said that 2 school districts told him they are moving to spanish teaching only (he teaches SS). He knows Spanish but not enough to speak it fluently.
