Enough food?

I am doing a surprise bday party for my MIL next week. I am not sure if I have enough food and wine. It is for 40 adults and there are 2-3 small kids

For passing appetizers and dips etc:

melon w prosciutto wrap
chicken meatballs
beef meatballs
sausage rolls (like pigs in blanket)
smoked salmon roulades with cream cheese on toast point
goat cheese with pear on toast points

chips, cheeses, fruit, spinach dip and other dips

For main meal we are doing a BBQ (typical Australian), so we have sausages, chicken kebabs and steaks.
we also have a green salad, a pasta salad and cheese, herb and garlic bread.

Dessert is:
mango, passion fruit and coconut cake
black forest cake
pear and lemon tart
fruit salad
ice cream

I feel like I am missing something from the appetizers and maybe something chocolate-y for dessert, brownies maybe? I think the main BBQ is fine.

We are doing wine and beer for alcohol, and am not sure what to get. It is an afternoon party so I find people drink less. we were thinking a case of beer, 8 bottles of white wine and 4 bottles of red. They aren't big drinkers, but I don't want to run out.

Does this seem like enough of a selection???

I am so bad at planning amounts of food.

TIA!

Re: Enough food?

sounds wonderful!

I'd add another case of beer and plenty of bottled water, soda and iced tea.

Also, you may want to add a plate of cookies.

good luck!

Re: Enough food?

sounds good!

i have a good stuffed mushrooms recipe if you want to add that to the appetizers.

dessert sounds good also. if you want to add something, brownies would be a good idea, or I have a great cookie recipe. Or a chocolate trifle is always a big hit (I've got a recipe for that too if you're interested!)
