New To Pets! Q About My Cat
Hi! This is my first post on Pets. I'm usually on TTC or Parenting.
I just brought my cat over to my new house from my mom and dad's. He's been hiding under the guestroom bed for hours now and he won't come out. I put his food up there and the litter box is across the hall in the bathroom.
Has anyone else transplanted their cat? How long until he comes out. He used to be my "arse attachment". He's just hissing and growling and sniffing very loudly. Please help!
TIA!

Re: New To Pets! Q About My Cat
It took my cats 3 days to come out! I don't know how they held it in for that long!
They were fine afterwards.

Re: New To Pets! Q About My Cat
Some cats need longer than others to adjust. I'm sure in no time he'll be all over the place!

Re: New To Pets! Q About My Cat
Thanks!
I caught him sitting on the bed last night when he thought everyone was asleep, but today he's back under....
It's a start I guess!

Re: New To Pets! Q About My Cat
Awww! He'll make it out, it'll just take a few days, I think it's easier when they are kittens, but older cats like their homes and don't adjust too fast!
Good luck!!!

Re: New To Pets! Q About My Cat
Depends on the cat and how their personality is. My cat is EXTREMELY skittish and nervous. I swear she needs anxiety meds! It took her 3-4 days to come out-- but they all do eventually. They are just freaked out....
Good luck!

Re: New To Pets! Q About My Cat
My cat did the same thing when we moved. It took a few days but he adjusted. Now he loves the house.

Re: New To Pets! Q About My Cat
he'll be fine - it took my cat two days to adjust well enough to come out of hiding when i moved and another two weeks before he actually seemed comfortable. just leave him alone, he'll come around

Re: New To Pets! Q About My Cat
I have moved 2 times in the past 2 years and both times were different with each cat. This last time the little one lived under a blanket in the closet for weeks (only coming out to eat, drink water, and use the litter box). She was very depressed but eventually came around and now loves her home. Give him a few days and words of encouragement.
