We've talked about it already and I told DH I want to be surprised w/ the next one. I really hope I can keep to that, I know it will be agony, but I want that surprise!

I know how you feel, I was seriously considering not finding out the sex of this baby.
But for me with a 3 bedroom house and soon to be 3 kids, someone is going to be sharing rooms, and it just makes my life easier to know ahead of time who will be sharing so I can plan.

I found out for the first and I think I would still want to know the gender of the next ahead of time. I like to be prepared and don't think I could wait.

thats a problem well have too b/c i only have one bedroom for my dd right now, so she will have to share.. and its PINK!!.. so if next baby is a boy...yikes.. but i figure next baby will be in my bedroom for first few months, so that gives us time to change it.

I toally agree that it's a surprise at 20 weeks or 40 weeks. We got it put into an envelope and opened it when we were alone...it was great to share the surprise just the two of us and not a bunch of strangers. We didn't tell anyone we knew, it was our little secret and i'm so glad i knew. i definitely think it made the pregnancy more special..knowing it was her and not it.

I found out with both DC's. I have no patience and wanted to be able to refer to her/him that way. The surprise to me is what they will look like - the gender...surprise at 20 weeks or 40 weeks...I chose 20 weeks.
I feel the same way! I remember the day we found out that DD was a girl .. what an exciting moment! And when we finally saw her in person, seeing her little face, nothing was better than that.

I found out last time aand will find out this time. I wish I could hold out- but noooooooo way.
I drive-thru for lunch, do 1 hour photo, use quick dry on my mani's- I can't wait for anything!!!

i knew with both kids and would find out again. childbirth is a surprise enough for me so it actually puts me ar ease.

I found out with all 3 and if I was going to have another one I would find out again. I wish I could wait but I have to have everything done before the baby is born and I just can't hold out that long of not knowing

Yes I would want to know. I do think if I had a bad L&D the 1st time then maybe I wouldnt want to know so that way it took my mind off of it and I would be surprised. But since my L&D was wonderful, I would want to know.

if your planning on more do you want to know gender on next child too? I dont want to.. i feel like i need to wait and hear "its a boy or its a girl" in the delivery room. I just know its something that will bother me forever if i dont. You know what i mean or am i just nuts?
DH and I feel the same way. We found out with DD, but thought it would be really awesome to wait until the baby is born next time. You're not nuts!

I was just talking about this the other day with debsey75 actually and I said I won't because I need that incentive to push. I'm scared to death of pushing now, and I pushed for 45 min. so it wasn't even that bad, but it was so hard!

I often think about this also... I knew I wanted to find out last time and once I did it made everything so much more real... but I'm not sure if I want to find out the next time because I think I would like to experience the "surprise" at the end of the delivery at least once, kwim? But who knows how I'll feel when I'm pregnant again
