Baby Furniture - Behr's

I ordered my furniture from Behr's on December 15th and was told to that the wait would be 10-12 weeks.

It is now almost 13 weeks and I called Behr's and they said all the pieces are in except the crib! They said it could be another 2 weeks! Ugh!

Now, I'm getting nervous!

Behr's said they could lend me a crib if I needed one in the meantime and deliver the rest of the furniture. I have a pack n'play with bassinet that the baby could sleep in if we needed it.

I'm not due for another 4 weeks, but this is really cutting it close.

I think it would be fine to put the baby in the PNP until the crib came in.

Just have them deliver the rest of the furniture in the meantime.

I would ride it out...but mostly b/c I don't plan on using the crib right away anyway.

I would definitely keep on top of them though.

I plan on having an empty nursery (due to my Jewish superstition) when my baby comes home. It will be in the bassinet of a pack n play until everything else arrives. The baby won't know the difference - only you will. If you have a pack n play, it will be fine.

Behr's got me so angry!!! You should call them and MAKE SURE your crib will be in.

I ordered my Furniture on Sept 16. I was 4 months pg. They said 12 weeks. My Crib and dresser came in at the end of december. My changing table and Hutch I was told would be in at the end of Dec....then the end of Jan....then the end of Feb....finally they told me they had no idea when my changing table would be in. Apparently they only produce a product when there are enough orders to warrant it. Nobody told me that in SEPTEMBER when I ordered the furniture. Finally my Hutch for the dresser came in two weeks ago.

CALL them and make sure your crib will be in!!!! Also they will deliver what furniture they do have.

Oh man, this makes me nervous! I ordered my furniture 6 weeks ago - I wonder if I should call and check the status.

If I were you I'd call back and see if you can get a more definitive answer as to when the piece will be here.

I hope it comes in soon! I'd call each week and check. I ordered there too and was told 10-12 weeks for my set but it came in in 8!

I ordered from there as well. I hope it comes in on time. I would keep calling for status updates. etc.

I was actually told that my crib wasn't in either, and wouldn't be for another two weeks. However, it ended up coming in two days later. I don't know if it has to do with Behr's or the furniture company. What kind of furniture did you get? Mine was Munire, the Newport collection.

I agree with the posters above - just use a pnp, or buy a little bassinet or something. (I don't think anyone 's going to be sleeping much those first weeks anyway )

There is no way I would take a used crib from Behrs. You won't know what they did with it... it could have been a floor model for all you know.

I read this on consumers reports...

If possible, avoid buying or accepting a used crib. Older models may not meet current safety standards or may be in disrepair. If you must use an older crib, avoid those built before 2000, about a year after the latest voluntary standards for slat-attachment strength took effect. (Check the manufacture date on the crib label, which is required by law.)

I hate BEHRS!!!! I will never, never, ever get there again. We ordered our crib on Nov 5 and just got this past Monday.

I had no problems with them at all. I think a lot has to do with the manufacturer too. I don't think you are cutting it close. My furniture ended up coming in early and I had them hold it for a month and had it delivered 10 days before my due day. I ended up going into labor the next day.

Thanks ladies. I will continue to call Behr's every few days to check on the status. And I agree that I won't accept a temporary crib and just use the PNP bassinett if I have to!

It is just so frustrating, especially when you order so far in advance. We ordered in December and they said early to mid March and now only a couple of the pieces are in!

I don't know who is to blame, the manufacturer or the store, but I guess it is just something I have to deal with for now...

We are in the same situation. They delivered the dreser and the changing pad yesterday. I have the bassinet and a cradle. I am not using the crib right away so its okay for us. What does stink is that the nursery won't be 100% finished when the baby arrives.
