My dog is "leaking" - UTI?
I noticed last night that my dog (4 year old husky) was leaking - like she would lie down and get up and there would be a wet spot under her. She was also drinking a bit more water and peeing a little bit more frequently. Otherwise, she's acting normal.
I looked on the internet and it seems like it could be a uti? I took a urine sample to the vet this morning and i find out soon, but was wondering if anybody else's dog ever leaked like this and what the problem was?

I've never had this happen with any of the dogs I've had.
Get her checked out by her vet and let us know what you find out.
Good luck!

Re: My dog is "leaking" - UTI?
I just spoke with the vet and the urine test came back negative for infection. They want her to take pills for incontinence that she might have to take for the rest of her life. Is this common??? The lady on the phone wasn't able to answer my questions?

If you notice blood in her urine I would take her in for an x-ray, because when my dog's bladder was leaking, she had bladder stones, that she was trying to pass. But I wouldn't worry as long as you don't see blood she will be fine. Hope she feels better!!!

I've never heard of this before. You may want to take her for a second opinion just to be sure.

I would definitely take her for a second opinion. I had a dobie that had incontinence and I waited to take her for a second opinion. When I did take her we found out she was suffering from kidney failure and there was no longer anything we could do.

Re: My dog is "leaking" - UTI?
Thanks for the advice. I may take her for a second opinion. Funny thing is that she's not doing it at all today. The vet gave me medication Proin for it, but i am going to watch her for a few days before I do anything.
Today she doesn't seem to be drinking more than usual and i don't know if i was just hypersensitive to how much she had been drinking??
I did some research online and the incontinence thing doesn't seem to be that uncommon, but i do want to make sure that there isn't some other issue.
