Re: HAMPTONS?
I would suggest Montauk over the Hamptons. I find it to be more family friendly.
I like to stay at the Royal Atlantic. It's in town and on the beach.

East Hampton I believe is better,
not necessarily... Southampton is really quaint.
My parents have a house in Watermill, near all the vineyards.
Take a vineyard tour... Indian Cove Restaurant in Hampton Bays is really inexpensive and DELISH...
Flying Point Beach is beautiful..
You could also take a day trip to Sag Harbor

Re: HAMPTONS?
I would suggest Montuak too. It is a more family friendly place. We stay at the Albratross Inn which is 100 feet from the beach.

Re: HAMPTONS?
A few Q's
when are you planning on going?
What would you like to do while you are here?
Would you consider renting a house for all of you as opposed to hotel rooms.
how many kids and what ages?
I live out here so once I know more details I hope to help

Re: HAMPTONS?
I am not familiar with vacationing in the Hamptons but like the another poster mentioned, we stay at Royal Atlantic every year. We rent a townhouse on the beach and it is perfect for a family getaway~You can walk to the town..

Re: HAMPTONS?
south hamptons, great place , but very expensive, don't know about a place to stay b/c we always rented a house, but S H VILLAGE is fun many nice stores and restaurants, you can go to the beach and get a nice tan The other great place is Sag Harbor in the hamptons, I stayed at Baron's Cove Hotel and we loved it there, they have the best ice cream place not far from the hotel, best ice cream I had,lol GL plus SH is very family friendly.

Re: HAMPTONS?
I agree Montauk would be best for kids and you can always do a day trip to Sag Harbor and South/East Hampton.
