Re: Have you taken a tour
I did with my 1st. DH thought it was a waste. I felt it was useful to know where to go and where things were.
For #2 I won't, unless I deliver at a different hospital

Re: Have you taken a tour
It was a part of my lamaze class, but I like to be prepared for where I am going, so I loved knowing what the labor/delivery rooms looked like, what the hospital rooms looked like, where the nursery was, etc...

Re: Have you taken a tour
I did. It was good to see where everything was. It made me feel a little bit more comfortable. They also gave us tips... like you can't use your cell phone on the delivery unit so you should bring quarters for the payphone.

Re: Have you taken a tour
i took the tour, but it was way too long and drawn out...not necessary. It was nice to see the maternity ward, but that was the only good part and they saved that for the very end.

Re: Have you taken a tour
I'm doing this on April 18th. I want to because I think it will help me to know where to go what the place will look like etc.

Re: Have you taken a tour
We did ours yesterday. It was very helpful to us as far as where we go when we check in, policies they have on guests, etc...
The best part was when they showed us the nursery.

Re: Have you taken a tour
I did with my first (actually they took us during my childbirth class). I will be taking a tour of a different hospital for this one and then make a decision.
I think it was great to take a tour, then you knew exactly where you were going and what to expect that day.

Re: Have you taken a tour
I did with my first. I probably won't do it this time since it is my 3rd baby, and we are pretty familiar with the hospital and everything by now.

Re: Have you taken a tour
I took it this weekend and enjoyed it. I like knowing where we'll be when the baby is delivered, where to go when I first come into the hospital, where our family/friends can wait, etc. My DH feels calmer knowing where to park, where we go when we get there, where to get food if we're there for a long time, etc. It has definitely relieved a lot of our anxieties.

Re: Have you taken a tour
I signed up for a tour for next sunday actually, i was told you get a bunch of free things, and Im familiar with this hospital but i thought my DH might like to go and get us excited about having the baby there.. i figured we had nothing to lose, even if it is useless info.. its only a 45 min. tour and its around the corner from my house

Re: Have you taken a tour
I took a tour with my parents and DH when I was prego with my 1st. I'm on baby number 3 I pretty much know the ins and outs of the hospital. But we do have to take a drive to the hospital itself. lol When I went into labor with my 2nd my DH got lost on our way to LIJ lol
