WTH, my chart...

Could it be any more obscure? Its day 48! I *thought* I O-ed on CD 32 but based on my temps following that, I doubt it now.

In fact I doubt any O at all...

Re: WTH, my chart...

Lisa,
Do you use OPK's, track CM, or CP...anything else that might be helpful in interpreting your chart?

I track CM, but it hasn't been much help. No EW CM. I tend to have a sticky/moist infertile pattern.

Re: WTH, my chart...

Have you ever charted an anovulatory chart?
If so, can you post it for comparison?

Re: WTH, my chart...

my other charts are incomplete - I'd chart for a few weeks and then give up without seeing a pattern (this was before I knew LONG cycles were the "norm" for me).

But my fear is I'm not ovulating at all.

1st pic: last cycle, 43 days

2nd pic: 59 day cycle
(my first cycle charting very inconsistently)

Not sure they'll be any help.

Re: WTH, my chart...

Lisa,

I cant seem to figure out a pattern that points to you ovulating (I will keep studying though). Can you ask your OB/GYN to do some tests for you?
Because of your long cycles I would try to get testing done sooner.
I am soo sorry your cycles are soo long, that has got to STINK!

Re: WTH, my chart...

I didn't see any ovulation pattern either, but figured I'd ask the experts. Thanks for looking.

I'm going to call for an appt with my gyn tomorrow. She did bloodwork a few months ago when she was concerned I was skipping periods, but I'm not sure exactly what she tested for then.

What kind of tests can determine if I'm ovulating?

Re: WTH, my chart...

Try to get a CD 3 blood test. With that you should get your prolactin levels tested, it should also include a test of your FSH, DHEA, E2 and TSH. These tests will all help determine your hormonal levels and will help indicate if you are having problems ovulating.

Re: WTH, my chart...

Hmmm....two things come to mind when I see very long cycles. One..."hypothyroid, and two, pcos"......research both and see if either applies to you. Have your insulin tested as well.......could mean you are insulin resistant........keeps AF away. You might need to be put on metformin, and clomid combo....if that's the case. Possibly, provera,...which is a form of progesterone that actually brings AF on. AF needs to come a lot sooner.....they need to find out what's the situation....make sure you find a doctor who, is getting to the bottom of this.

Re: WTH, my chart...

Question: Are you using a BBT thermometer? Bc your charts look like mine did when I was using a regular digital from CVS and they just don't work. Another important factor to consider is the time that you are taking your temp. It must be at about the same time every day or you will get skewed results like those on your chart. Hope this is the case, and not something more serious. Best of luck to you! Chat Icon

yup, using BBT and taking my temps at the same time each day. A few temps were discarded due to taking them later...

I don't have any symptoms of hypothroid (other than irregular periods). The symptoms of PCOS seems so generic, its hard to say, but I've never had any cysts detected.

Is PCOS something that can just come on, or would you always have it? Because prior to taking BCPs for 12 years, I was very regular.

I swore I had PCOS because I felt as though I was tectbook case when I read the symptoms, but I didn't. I was completely screwy with my cycles for 8 months after coming off the pill. I had blood work done, took Rx Provera to induce AF, everything! Then I got PG. Since then, my cylcles are almost always 28-30 days and I ovulate 9 out of 10 times. I know this because I invested $175 in a ClearBlue Easy Fertility monitor and I've been using it for months (and we're not TTCing, I just need to know my cycles because of my past history). I can ovulate anywhere from day 14 to day 18. For me, it was well worth the expense. If anything, it holds your data in the monitor for 6 months and you can get something to get the data off and have your doctor look at it.

Re: WTH, my chart...

This is pretty wacky... if you're taking the temps at the appropriate times, maybe there's something else that you're doing/not doing that's causing such fluctuation. Stress, travel, drinking alcohol, and many other factors can alter your waking temp even if you do it at the same time as usual.

It can just come on. I just got diagnosed with PCOS so if you have any questions feel free to lask me.
Also, those blood tests I was talking about earlier (CD3) if you get those done it can help indicate if you have it.

Re: WTH, my chart...

Deb-

is the CD3 the name of a test or when the test needs to be taken (cycle day 3)?

sorry for the novice question...

I have an appt for Tuesday (which would be CD 7)
