flower girl..what would you do?

My DD is going to be a flower girl in Oct. The bride wants me to get the dress now, but I have no idea what size DD will be in Oct! What should I do. I'm not sure if the dress needs to be ordered early (for delivery purposes etc...) but I don't want to spend the $ if it won't fit her!?

Then I would get her an 18 month gown or even 24 months. (you can always have it taken in.)

I think it isn't a good idea to order it now - she is going to grow alot from now until then.

Is it being ordered in a bridal shop - cause I think they will tell you the same thing.

Unless they order it really big and put a cap on alterations

Re: flower girl..what would you do?

Don't do it!!!! I am now stessing over this. My daughter was 3 months old(in December) when we ordered her dress for a June wedding. When she was born she was almost 10 pounds. The lady at the shop ordered a 12 month dress. When Easter came she was already wearing a 12 month dress. I picked up the dress when it came in and they told me tough luck basically. It is a big now but I still have 2 and a half months to go. Anything can happen. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Find out the absolute last moment you can order the dress. This is such a headache for me now. I have no idea what I will do if this doesn't fit in June.

Thanks for the advice, that's exactly what I am afraid of. I really need to find a store that has dresses for sale off the rack...I'm not sure that even exists!

I'm actually getting married in June and found a flowergirl dress for DD in Homegoods in Port Jeff.

What kind of flower girl dress are you looking for? Does the bride have a specific style or color?

She wants it to be all white, and I think she said "poofy" on the bottom.

I actually think you'll have an easy time finding something like that then!!

You can always check out Little Dickens in Lake Grove/Centereach or try Little Shop for Babies in Smithtown. Both of them have a pretty good selection of dresses and both have clearance racks with cute dresses.

And just keep an eye out, you'll never know when you might come across something!!

Re: flower girl..what would you do?

I think David's Bridal has little girl dresses that you can buy off the rack.
