Out of over 500 applicants in my school district...
...I WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What did I win, you ask?
About 2 months ago, I entered a contest to win a "21st Century Classroom". I had to fill out an application and write an essay as to why I would be the best candidate to teach in a classroom filled to the brim with technological goodies...
...well, apparently they loved it, so here's what I'm getting!
A Smartboard
A document camera (think overhead projector, but without the transparencies! And it can show 3d stuff, too!)
A surround-sound speaker system
A laptop for me
Voting devices for the kids (you can program in review questions before tests, and have them ring in their answers!)
and a digital camera!!!!!!!!
HOW PSYCHED AM I FOR NEXT YEAR??!!!!!

that is so awesome!
Congratulations! you are going to LOVE the smartboard... i am hoping i get one next year, but use the one in other teachers' rooms when it's available. it's the best...
and the senteos' are sooo fun. the kids love them!
