Resume Response?
Am I the only one who hasn't heard anything from those districts i sent my resumes to?
I sent out a bunch of resumes after February break but I haven't heard a single thing...
Anyone else in the same boat?

Re: Resume Response?
You probably will not hear much until after the budget votes in May. Most districts have lost some state funding AGAIN, and are very nervous about budgets passing again because of the economy. They probably can estimate the positions they have BUT can not hire them until they know their budgets. I know in my district we were told the amount of classes we would have per section IF the budget passes and what it would be if the budget doesn't (larger classes- eliminating a position)
Try to keep the faith, it's hard!

I haven't heard anything yet either. I was applying last year and I had gotten many calls by this time last year (never got any of the jobs though ), but this year I haven't heard anything and have been freaking out. I guess it's true what someone posted about the budgets. Best of luck to you!

Re: Resume Response?
Out of the 20 something resumes I've sent out I've had 3 interviews so far. Two were mailed in and one was from OLAS.

You and I are in the same boat. By this time last year I had gone on a bunch of interviews (I never got any of them either) I am beginning to freak out too because I don't want to go back to private school again next year!

You are in a better situation than I am.. I sent out like 75 resumes and haven't heard from anyone. I have done the online resumes too and haven't heard anything

Re: Resume Response?
Just got one response so far out of about 70 resumes sent out. So I'm a little discouraged myself.

Re: Resume Response?
I know my district is talking about excessing, so I am sure they haven't been interviewing yet...once the budgets are voted on, I am sure things will pick up!

I agree with this. After the budget, things can start to get "set". Also, people on leave need to decide if they are returning as time goes on, so that may work into the possible positions open.

Re: Resume Response?
I know my hubby is in the same boat even though he is perm sub right now he wants his own class so bad. He has sent out so many resumes and has gotten a few interviews but they also say if you only had more experience. So frustrating.
I keep telling him hang in there something will happen.
