Re: recommend a doggy dermatologist.
These guys are in the city and I've heard good things about them.
Animal Allergy & Dermatology
They're located at 164 West 25th Street. Their website has more info.
Good luck, I hope everything is ok.

Re: recommend a doggy dermatologist.
I took my 7 year old dog to this place for chemotherapy, I know they have dermatology department and all sorts of other different specialists. I suggest you call them first though and see if you need your vets recommendation, thats the only way we were able to go to them, but all we did was send a fax and they had us in the next day. I HIGHLY recommend them, the doctors are true angels and will sit with you for an hour answering all your questions if thats how much time you need. I have been with them for almost a year and a half so I can defntily give them my full confidence. Its called Compassionate Care on Cantiague Rock Road in Westbury. You can also check out their website too http://www.vetspecialist.com/ I live in Suffolk County and it takes me longer to get to the appointment then it takes for them to exam her and take her for her treatment, it is completely worth the ride, I still have my little angel with me because of them!

Re: recommend a doggy dermatologist.
thanks everyone.
the regular vet i go to kind of made me feel like he was more in it for the $ then the actual caring of dharmas best interest.
he prescribed me pills, a shot, a spray, a cream & a special food i could only get from him.
SOMETHING helped for a minute but since he made me do ALL of those we dont know a)which one helped and b)what the CAUSE of her irritations are.
the only thing i KNOW wasnt the cure was the food. b/c we used it much longer and her problems came back.
im thinking of just taking her to a dermatologist instead. they deal with Cresteds more often than the avg vet.
