You mean which island to pick, or where to stay on both islands? If you mean which island to pick, I'd say Martha's Vineyard hands down. Nantucket IMO is snooty.

my family is from nantucket, so i would have to say nantucket! (otherwise my grandmother wil disown me!0
having said that, ive never been the the vineyard...
can you do both? a few days in each? i know that nantucket can be "done" in a few days...
in terms of where to stay on nantucket, i would say either the jared coffin house, or the wauwinet... same company. they also have another hotel down by the harbor, but i cant remember the name of it.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of Block Island, but between MV and Nantucket...MV gets my vote.
How long are you going for?
