baby shower (long)

I am almost 7 months PG and my BF was asking me about my shower today. I told her I hadn't heard anything yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if my Mom plans on holding it right before I'm due. My BF said that since I'm due at the end of July it should be held at the end of May or early June and that invites should be going out now if she plans on having it at the end of May. She asked for my Mom's phone number to ask her what my Mom's planning and offered to throw me one if my Mom would rather not have the responsibility. So when should a shower be given? By BF is not the only one inquiring, even DH wants to know because he was in the know for my Bridal Shower and he hasn't heard anything either. I told my mom I registered at BBR and her only response was that she didn't like that store and that I should register at Macy's because they have such cute clothes. Clothes are the last thing I need, it's all the other necessities that are high on my priority list.

usually showers are about 2 months before you are due. mine was this past weekend and i am due may 23, my mom planned mine real late. i kinda wish it was earlier but it was nice of her to throw it and so nice of everyone to be so generous and buy us so many gifts. i know the feeling of wanting to know but not wanting to seem ungrateful about the whole thing. that's so nice of your bf to offer to throw you a shower if your mom doesn't. i would personally have dh call mom and ask. and re: registering, don't listen to anyone else, except maybe some RECENT experienced moms. my mom suggested some random outlandish stuff and i just told her we weren't going to do it and we were doing things our way. you have to register for what you think you need most, that's the bottom line. i hope everything works out for you
