need ideas...
i need vacay ideas for a family trip -- something that will be fun for all and provide activities for everyone (both as a group and separately if time is spent on own).
it would be
-- one couple in their 80s (still mobile, but can't do lots of walking or fast walking)
-- one person that is 60 and healthy/active
-- one couple that is in late thirties with two young kids, 5 and 7
-- one early thirties couple with no kids
Thinking about something about a week long. Any specific locations that you think would be good? Any specific resorts? Any and all ideas are appreciated.

i agree with the cruise idea - my family (all different ages from 9/10 to about 80) has gone on cruises together, and it worked for everyone!

Thought about a cruise -- might not be possible bc of sea-sickness for one or two family members. But, if we do go that route, are there certain lines that are more family friendly than others? I have never been on a cruise so I have no background w/ them...

What about some place like Hitlon Head or Myrtle Beach - they strike me as family friendly vacation destinations. Beach, golf, towns, etc.

My boyfriend and I went on a Carnival cruise with 40 of his family members (all ages) and everyone had a blast. We even got matching shirts and all took a picture together, it said "Friends and Family Fun cruise 2004"
Honestly, only a couple of people got sea sick the first night, the rest of the time we had no problems. Its a large ship, you can BARELY feel it moving.

****Oh and if you have a large party you get discounts....call and speak to a carnival cruise agent.

thanks, it seems like a lot of people are saying cruise. we'll have to look into that.
myrtle beach is another good idea.
don't want to do OC because that is close by to us (we live in md) and we are looking to plan something that is a get away for everyone...
keep the ideas coming if anyone has any others!

I just came back from a cruise. It was very family oriented for all ages. I would recommend RC too!
