question
Is it possible to be pregnant and still get a period? AF was due this past Sunday. Last Friday when I went to the bathroom it was very light pink like AF was on her way. Saturday there was nothing then Sunday through Tuesday I had a full period. A friend of mine told me that happened to her and she did not know she was pregnant. Is that possible?

Re: question
It's not technically AF, but you can bleed during pregnancy. There are various reasons that can cause bleeding. Sometimes it's an indication that progesterone is low. High levels of estrogen can cause spotting/ bleeding, ....and if progesterone isn't able to counteract it, sometimes that could be a cause of bleeding. Some people bleed in pregnancy and it's not related to hormones but to other issues as well.
AF, is when the uterine lining sheds, and therefore,....you can't have A TRUE AF and be pregnant.

Ectopic pregnancies are known to cause bleeding, that's why bleeding and pregnancy, should always be taken seriously. Make sure your ob/gyn does a u/s asap, if it's the case.

Yes, that is usually true, but in my case it was late implantation so I had a totally normal AF. Had no idea I was pg until I was almost 9 weeks.

Re: question
the only reason I think it was a period is because it came a day before AF was supposed to arrive. I just don't know why it was pink 2 days before she actually did arrive. If it was a case if anything hapening outside the uterus would it have happened right when AF was due? Maybe I'll make an appt. to play on the safe side and buy a HPT test tomorrow.
