Can someone tell me WHY
my kid has been waking up for the last week at 4am?
Amidst all the spirit, spunk, strong-willed stubbornness, my only claim to fame, my only salvation, is that the monkeymeister wears herself out so much during the day, that she sleeps a solid, no-fuss 12 hours a night.
Now I can't even have THAT?!
And what's worse, she's not crying. She's not fussing.
She wakes up, on the button, at 4am, and starts SINGING, at the top of her lungs "Mooooooommmmmy" ... "mmmOOOOMMMMmyyyyyy"... "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMY"
I swear, I can see the smirk on her face, as she does it, as I toss and turn and hold my ears to drown her out

Re: Can someone tell me WHY
Man she sure knows how to drive you crazy yet be adorably cute at the same time, huh?
My DD was doing the same thing for a while. She would stand up in her crib and call "Mooooommmmmyyyyyyyy" over and over. Not crying, but wouldn't go back to sleep if I tried to ignore her. I would go in, but wouldn't pick her up. She would always ask me to turn on her music player on her crib- I would tell her to do it herself. Then she wanted me to fix her blanket and tuck her in. I would do it the first time, but then the next time I would stand by the door and tell her to do it herself. It happened less and less after that.
Honestly though the only thing that seemed to cut it out completely was that now when I put her to bed I remind her that Mommy will not come and get her until it's morning time, and that if she wants the music turned on she has to do it herself. She seems to understand and hasn't called for me in a while. (and some mornings she tells me proudly that she turned the music on by herself!) I don't know if this'll work with Alex but it's worth a try.
