how do we know if DC is too active/hyper?
ok first time mommy here... she will be 7 months on Friday and she is nonstop. she sleeps approx 9:00pm - 7am and usually naps 1 - 1.5 hours per day (varies) but when she's awake, she wants to constantly play and bores i think fairly easily. 15 mins in exersaucer, 15 mins floor time, books, activity mat. maybe i'm just pooped because yesterday we were homebound due to the rain and DH worked 24 so i was alone with her and my arms & back cant take it. AND when i hold her she pushes away from me and leans toward whatever direction she wants to go in... does this make sense? is this normal? thank you

I don't know, but I wonder the same about DS at times. He is almost 5 months, and does a lot of the same things, though since he isn't creeping yet, his feet and arms just wiggle around constantly. He's very squirmy when we hold him unless he's beat, and even his sleep schedule is similar. Maybe another hour napping.

There's nothing wrong with that. She is just exploring and taking in her surroundings. Both of my kids were/still are like that. They are just ALWAYS on the go. Good thing is that when they go to sleep, they are literally KNOCKED out!

Re: how do we know if DC is too active/hyper?
Oh yes, its normal. I'm getting 2 naps a day from him but in between charlie is exhausting!! He gets bored too, We switch constantly....jumper, excersaucer, play mat, etc etc. And he is getting too heavy now to carry around. He likes to practice crawling (hes almost there!) but when he is on the floor he rolls, and he will roll to anything he wants to grab...wires, cat toys, remotes. Anything but his toys Time to babyproof!!
I just try to make sure I get out every day otherwise the day totally drags. I feel like I get a break during a car ride or even when he is in his stroller in a store or something. But I'm totally exhausted at the end of the day!!

Re: how do we know if DC is too active/hyper?
Sounds pretty normal to me!
Tyler was exactly like that when he was younger. Not too long after 7 months he started to calm down and spend more time playing with one particular thing. He also has gotten much better at entertaining himself, so DW and I aren't quite so exhausted (easy for me to say - I'm at work while she's home with him!)
It will get easier. Just hang in there!!!

Re: how do we know if DC is too active/hyper?
Oh do I know it. My son is 10 months and non stop. And since he just started walking Oh goodness. He is back and forth and back and forth. He is such a big ball of energy. He always finds something to get into and never stops playing all day long when i am with him. He tires me out. And my mom and MIL babysit him and I think he tires them out too. B/c they always tell me that he is handful.

Re: how do we know if DC is too active/hyper?
I've got an EXTREMELY "busy" dd. She's constantly on the go and needs to be going all the time. I'm always joking that at 11 months she already needs meds
But I know it's totally normal

Totally normal.
Jack just wants to GO GO GO all day long now. His naps have been screwy and pretty much non-existent so I am exhausted.
