Pre-Natal Massage

Currently 35 weeks and going strong EXCEPT for the lower back pain, cramping in the legs, swollen feet and hands/wrist.

In deparate need of a massage, so can anyone recommend a spa, day-spa in the Garden City area or Manhattan that offer great pre-natal massages? I'm considering Spa Nordstrom's prenatal massage (found a few reviews) or Oasis Day Spa.

Any previous experiences and/or reviews is helpful! Chat Icon

The Elizabeth Arden Red Door spa is in Garden city. You have to check if they do prenatals massage, but I went there before I was PG and they were wonderful!!

Re: Pre-Natal Massage

Had one at red door garden city- it was great- they massage you in an inclined position and then on your side-

they even offer but dont advertise and free makeup refresher after- it was a nice treat!

Re: Pre-Natal Massage

I am getting mine done at Nordstrom this weekend. But they do book up very far in advance so it may be difficult to get an appointment. Originally when I called 2 weeks ago she told me the first available appointment was June. When I told her my due date was May 30th she then squeezed me into an earlier appointment. So if you want to go with Nordstrom I would call them tomorrow and see what they can do.

My friends SIL comes to your house...I have never used her, but my friend said that she is fabulous. If you would like, I can get her number.

Re: Pre-Natal Massage

Hmmm...I'm 38 weeks today and do you think it's too late for a massage now? I'm only 1 cm dilated now from my appt. last nite.

But i did go to Unique Threading & Salon, 727 Sixth Ave., 2nd FL., NYC, 212-929-1410 (http://www.yelp.com/biz/unique-threading-salon-new-york#hrid:gnzUAfmX6y6nYiYH5-Yqsg/query:unique%20threading) for Eyebrow Threading and it cost me only $6! And i tipped her $3 for a great job!

And I got my nails done at The Beautiful Nail Place across the street from Dr. Hanauer's office (72 E. Old Country Road, Mineola, 516-873-6527. M-W Mani-Pedi for $22, got a french done for both at $31, but the polish is chipping already! Might have to go back into Queens to my usual nail salon in Fresh Meadows.

Also got a much needed hair cut in CHinatown from Ray at V2 Beauty Salon, 153 Hester St
(between Bowery & Elizabeth St)
New York, NY 10013
(212) 226-7690 (http://www.yelp.com/biz/v-2-beauty-salon-new-york#hrid:IhaaCOKqjBPWdMUrCy1wYA/query:v%20salon) Haircut cost me $28 and he was awesome, snipped away like a madman.

Now just need a massage! Love Yelp.com for reviews!
