Jiu Jitsu - anyone?
I'm sure there a few males that study Jiu Jitsu, but I'm looking for feedback from women....
Does anyone study Jiu Jitsu?
TIA!

Re: Jiu Jitsu - anyone?
saucy fm's notwithstanding, I actually DID take jiu jitsu for a while a few years back.
I LOVED it. LOVE IT.
the only reason I didn't continue is financial. It was $100 per month, PLUS my gym membership, it was just too much.
I went to a dojo on Broadway and Prince...the name of which escapes me for some reason but I have it at home. the sensei's were awesome and the classes were co-ed, which I liked b/c let's face it, I am more concerned about being able to defend myself against a man than I am against a woman.
the exercise was great, and the presence of mind being able to defend yourself gives you is priceless.
they also have women only classes, seminars on violence against women (FREE) and also FREE children's self defense awareness seminars, which I took our nieces to.
all in all, my experience was great. I have even been toying with the idea of giving up the gym and taking it up again.
I highly recommend it chris.

Re: Jiu Jitsu - anyone?
Thanks so much Jess....Enrique's friends (um...ALL of them) go to Gene Dunn's dojo in Bklyn...and the ONLY thing that's been keeping me back is the hefty price-tag...
The guys told me I should do it, as there are other women in the class now....
Hmmm...I'm going to work it into the budget and sign up soon!
