my first Mets / Yanks game -- mets fan going to Yankee Stadium
We're BIG Mets fans.
Through work, my DH got tickets to one of the Mets / Yanks games at Yankee Stadium.
I'm just curious to know if there will be a lot of Mets fans there or if I should leave my Mets hat at home... 
Also - what's the best way to get to Yankee Stadium from Nassau? Train it? Drive?

There will be tons of mets fans there...it can get pretty intense though. The only people who have a problem are the ones who say something stupid. Keep to yourself and you will be fine.  Have fun at the game!

You'll be in good company among a mix of Yankees and Mets fans... Subway series are fun games. Enjoy!
As far as getting there, I wouldn't drive. Parking has been cut in half due to all of the construction and if you're not there super early, you're going to parking on the street and Yankee Stadium is NOT in the greatest area in the Bronx.
I would take the train and then take the 4 train up to Yankee Stadium, it's a stop on the line and it's really easy... just follow the masses of Yankees and Mets fans!

i have season seats for the yankees for the past 10 years
And Mets/Yankees games are FILLED with Mets Fans, They are some of the best games of the year!!!! That and the boston yankee games, the energy is just unreal!

Yankees fan here and you won't have any problems.
I've been to Subway series' at both parks and there are always tons of the opposing fans.
My wife and I have been to a few together (She's a Mets fan) so thats always a fun time. LOL

i never understand that...
it's one thing if the mets are playing the yankees and you wear your yankee gear to shea
but if the mets are playing the pirates and you're wearing yankee gear - i don't get it

Met fans do the same exact thing. The game on Sun against the Marinors there were like 5 people wearing Mets gear.

i'm sure they do - i don't frequent yankee stadium so i wouldn't know
in either case, it doesn't make sense. In cases like that, you're asking for trouble

I'm a Yankee fan but I would never wear my Yankee jersey to Shea unless it was a Subway Series. I never understood why someone would wear a jersey to a game where that team isn't even playing. It's not just in NY, I see it all over. I think some people just want to wear something baseball related. Unless it's a kid wearing their Little League jersey, that they can get away with.
