Things to do near Hershey Park
DH has never been to Hershey, and its been about 10 years for me. We are goign on Memorial Day weekend - we plan to spend one day in the park. What can we do the other two days?

Re: Things to do near Hershey Park
There are outlets, but I know my DH wouldn't want to spend a day shopping.
You can go to Chocolate world, to Amish country and eat at some of the yummy smorgasbords. You could go to kitchen kettle and see all the crafts and jams and jellies. You could go on a tour of the pretzel factory.
There's a ton of stuff to do out there.

Re: Things to do near Hershey Park
you would think that living in that area for 4 years during college, i could give you more info. than what was already posted!
here are a few things:
lancaster has a minor league team...perhaps there's a game that weekend?
the Capitol building in Harrisburg is very impressive particularly if you're into architecture
you're only an hour and a half from Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Camden Yards...
also Dutch Wonderland (another amusement park)
Also Hershey has it's own zoo and the Hershey Theatre...perhaps look into plays or something that might be playing there that weekend!

Amish country!!
I love the Amish! There is some shopping there, you can take a bus tour and learn about them and their culture, and eat at some GREAT family style restaurants run by the Amish.

I loved the hotel. I highly recommend the spa and and the Sunday brunch (but you need reservations in advance).
If you have kids I recommend Dutch Wonderland we had a great time there. There is Amish Country too. There is also an outlet right across the street from hershey. There is plenty to do.
