Re: Has anyone read Skinny B!tch?

I read it and was disappointed. I thought it would be more open to all life styles, but it was mainly vegetarian. I enjoy chicken and seafood and don't want to give them up, so I got very little out of the book.

Re: Has anyone read Skinny B!tch?

I finally finished it and at first I was put off but really alot of the vegan/vegetarian stuff makes sense

If you put crap in- you'll be crap.

SO starting 2 days ago I have cut out all meat from my diet.

Next week Im hoping to get rid of unecessary sugars and processed foods.

So far I feel really good- Im not overeating and do even want to eat meat anymore

Plus its a HUGE help that DH is working with me and my menus- he ate tofu stirfry last night Chat Icon

I just read it. Eye opening is an understatement. I never knew the extent of the cruelty in slaughterhouses. Needless to say, I will not be eating animals anymore.

Re: Has anyone read Skinny B!tch?

Im reading it now. Im not offended but the words sting sometimes that they use ....but some of the info Im finding fascinating and like the style and way its written, like about sweetners etc. I would never know these facts b/c they are usually presented in such a scientific way KWIM?

Its interesting.

Re: Has anyone read Skinny B!tch?

I am reading this book now-- and I am totally APALLED.

I am already a vegetarian, and I am partially vegan-- I try not to eat dairy products alone-- but, I will eat items that contain dairy, i.e. non vegan bread.

I know that the book's content is very one sided, and while they have proof, it's still very Michael Moore-esque in the sense that they are telling the story that they want to tell. I still find it incredibly interesting that the government does not protect our food more-- or at least protect how food is advertised. I work in advertising-- and while I have never worked with a client that has blatantly lied to the public, you tend to skew the message the way you want-- BUT, flat out lying and misrepresentation is just wrong.

I do love how the book is written-- as DH said, it's sounds like something I would write.
