Re: Huggies sizing

I think they do make a size 2. And the reason I think that is because I skipped it thinking they didn't have it... then I saw it somewhere one day. My DS went straight from size 1 to size 3! (I could be completely wrong, however!)

They make size 2. Some of the "styles" are not available in size 2, but they make them in the snug and dry style which is what we used. I know my CVS and Rite Aid have them!

Hmmm, I am trying to remember how big Lucas was when I put him in size 3. I think he was definitely less than 17 pounds, but not as small as 12 pounds.

Why don't you get one more box of size 1? I am pretty sure that she will go through it before she gains another 5 pounds.

Re: Huggies sizing

I wouldn't go by weight so much because I find it to be wrong. If she isn't leaking from her current diapers then I would leave her.
When they started to leak at night I would move up that size diaper. Then when it started to happen durning the day I knew it was time to completely move up. DD is 19lbs and when I bought the big box of diapers at Costo I got a 4 although she was a 3, she would have outgrown it I think.

ETA: I use to use Huggies and they do come in size 2 (I think they are natural care, they are the marroon colored package) and I know Target has them.

Re: Huggies sizing

Why don't you buy a box of size 3... you know that eventually she is going to wear them.

Try out the size 3 and see if they work. If they seem too big, put those to the side and get a box of size 1 or 2 until she is ready for the size 3.

I have found that you can't go wrong in getting a bigger size... if they don't work now, they will work at some point! Chat Icon

They definitely make Huggies in a size 2. I used them for my DS.

I also wouldn't move her to the next size if she isn't leaking. I would keep her in the 2's
They make one's that are white with red writing and then marroon one's.
These go from size 1-6 and the one's Costo carries.

These are the gentle care which go from premie to size 2

Then these go from 3-6

Re: Huggies sizing

They definitely make a Size 2, but BJs and Costco don't carry them (I wish they did). I found the plain Size 2s at Target and the grocery store/drug store.

I would say that if Sofia is not leaking through, she probably does not need to go up a size just yet. But it can't hurt to buy a bigger size. As a PP mentioned, you can always use them in the future.

With my DS, I used Huggies Gentle Care until he was ready to move into a Size 3. Then I just used the regular Huggies Snug and Dry (white with red writing) that you can but at BJs and Costco. At night, I use Huggies Overnights (which start at size 3).

This diaper stuff is confusing! Chat Icon

Re: Huggies sizing

sorry to come in on your thread Theresa...but Mya is 15lbs and still fits the huggies size 1-2 from costco...im almost out of that box...you can still get the tabs to touch and shes not leaking out of them at night...im thinking i should be moving her up to size 2's just cause but im afraid they will be to big on her! shes so long and skinny! what would everyone else do?

as for Sophia, Theresa...they do make the size 2 huggies, but the size 1-2 are pretty much the same thing...i think the huggies size ones go up to 12 or 14lbs and the size 1-2 go up to 15lbs if i remember the size one package correctly (probably not my memory is gone!) just keep her in the 1-2s for awhile...shes got quite a bit of time left in them if shes 12 lbs...then maybe buy the just size 2's from a store like target or walmart
