The best birthday present I gave myself
I was miserable with my weight for a long time. Getting dressed & figuring out what looked ok was a constant struggle. Before parties, DH & I would argue. In retrospect, it was my being frustrated about myself & what I was going to wear.
Last year, my co-worker convinced me to join WWers. I decided for my 40th birthday the following year, the best present I could give myself was to feel healthy & better about my weight.
Throughout the year, I realized that instead of treating myself to food, I was treating myself to feeling healthier. Instead of treating myself by having ice cream, I started treating myself to smaller size clothes.
Now that I am 40 & have been on maintenance for 8 months, I can say it was the best birthday present I've ever given myself. Absolutely priceless.
I want to put this out there because it truly helped me with losing weight & may help others looking to do the same. Treat yourself doesn't have to be about food.

Barb, thank you so much for sharing this with us Kudos for staying on maintenance for 8 months!!! That's a huge accomplishment!!
