What Should I Do???
Ok, so 2 days ago I went to the hospital because I was having contractions that were anywhere from 3-10 minutes apart! I'm only 35 weeks along so their intentional intent was to obviously stop them. Well, they gave me a shot and it didn't work. About an hour later the nurse saw my contractions weren't stopping so my Dr. ordered her to give me another shot. Still didn't work! I was still having contractions. She let me sit there for another hour before she came back to check. I still had contractions but they weren't as bad, so I got discharged. Now before I went in I lost a piece of my Mucus Plug. I lost the rest of it yesterday afternoon.
I went to the mall today to walk around and do some light shopping. I'm getting this really SHARP pain in my groin. Plus, I'm having contractions AGAIN. Since, I lost my mucus plug I know my water can break and labor can be just around the corner. I'm already 100% effaced and 1 CM. My Dr. knows I will go before my due date, but he said he will keep giving me shots until I reach 38 weeks! I don't know what to do. Should I stay home and tough it out? Or should I go to the hospital? BTW, those shots are horrible the make me shake and I feel really weird.

Wow !! they didnt put you on bed rest?
I would call your doc and see what they say b.c if you are having contractions again they will want to give you that shot again!!

If you are having those pains again, I will call up your Dr. ASAP! Also, didn't they put you on sometime of bedrest? No offense, I know how crazed we all get in the last few weeks, but you should be home relaxing, not walking around (which more often than not, brings on labor).
Feel better and let us know what happens!

I would definetely call you dr. You don't want to fool around with it. I hear what you are saying about the shots...I had them as well, and they made me really sick...I thought I was going to pass out the first time, I went to the bathroom and got really dizzy that I dropped to the floor. My husband ran and got the nurse, and she said, oh thats normal
Im surprised your dr said that they would give you the shots up until 38 weeks. As long as I got to 36 weeks, my doc said no more shots.

Ummm, I couldn't exactly tell you..I was in so much pain with the contractions..I know it started with a "B" though. And she gave me 2! That's a little ridiculous to me! I mean obviously if it's not working they should let nature take it course. Then when I got discharged she wouldn't even check me again because she didn't want to stimulate my cervix to dilate anymore. So, I think I'm more than 1 CM. And the reason I don't call my doctor is because he said all he will do is keep giving me shots.

I know you dont wan the shots but you should get them so the baby has more time to develope there lungs more !! And after you get those shots dont go walking anywhere !! Take it easy !!

I would call again. Once you lose your mucus plug you are prone to infection and need to be careful. At a minimum you should be on bedrest! Take it easy and call your OB.
