Ok ok...
the yankees won this part of the subway series...there was no excuse for us loosing to a team that's not even in first place of their division....
Time to move on Met's fans cuz we have bigger fish to fry this week. Atlanta and the Marlins...

What is going with this team? everyone is out cuz of an injury? beltran, matsui, castro. Piazza had the night off. I told DH "at this rate they'll be putting in the bat boy to play in the game".

I agree. I'm not expecting them to win it all this year. It would be nice for them to just stay in the thick of things until September. We are also missing Trachsel a lot right now.

True Don very true...
I don't expect them to make it to the playoffs. But I just want a good season from them and hopefully next year we'll be the team to beat...

Yeah who else do we have that hits great...Ok floyd yes but really who else.
For the salaries that these players get they should be hitting the freaking ball especially Beltran.

Yeah who else do we have that hits great...Ok floyd yes but really who else.
For the salaries that these players get they should be hitting the freaking ball especially Beltran.
IMO reyes is a VERY good consistent hitter
MUCH better than the aging piazza

As much as I like Piazza I don't think he's as good as he used to be. Don't forget he may going in the hall of fame as one of the greatest hitting catchers. ..He's certainly not going in the hall of fame for his glove that's for sure.
Reyes is good but he swings at the most horrible pitches sometimes. I will say this though he is a fast runner and very good to have on base. The is like lightning when his running on base....

WIth the young talent the Mets have right now (Beltran, Reyes and Wright...I think I got their names right ) I think the Mets will have a great team over the next couple of years. I don't know that this year is going to be their year. Florida seems too solid right now. But I do think that if the Mets can keep growing like this they will be the team to beat in the NL East in the next couple of years

I hope this happens before I retire...should we just hand FL a broom or do you think we can at least avoid being swept by them? I am so frustrated with them right now...
