Is this out of line?
My son did not get into National Honor Society. He has the grades, the community service, sports and wrote a decent essay. His teachers were shocked that he did not get in. Would it be out of line for me to call the committee chairperson to inquire why he didn't get in and what he could do to better his chances for next year?
TIA Michelle

Re: Is this out of line?
I think your son should approach the committee chairperson and ask himself....it will be a sign of his maturity if he can gather up the courage. As a high school teacher, i respect my students more when they step up and question things that go on around them...if he gets the run around, then you can call and see what you can find out....

Re: Is this out of line?
your son is old enough to ask on his own behalf. there may have certain criteria and the people in charge may not have been able to bend those rules even though he is very deserving. unfortunately, "teacher discretion" does not exist in many instances.
