Water Pills

Has anyone taken them before? Can you recommend a brand?

I went to a neurologist for the light headedness I have been experiencing but everyone is telling me that I probably have vertigo and to take water pills and that will make me feel better.

I had gone to my regular doctor and he said I had fluid in my ears and gave me nesacort which did not work.

The neurologist wants me to get a MRI and two other tests which I dont think I need...I have a feeling it is vertigo that I have.

Can anyone recommend a brand of water pills for me?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Water Pills

If you are having Vertigo, I would definitely not take water pills without a Drs. supervision. They can dehydrate you and make matters worse.
Why not trying a different Dr. (GP)? A second opinion may help.

Re: Water Pills

I went to the Neurologist after going to my regular doctor. So far I like this doctor.

He scheduled me for an MRI and 2 other tests this wednesday....I hate MRI's....anyway...

Everyone is telling me that they are a waste and that I should just take water pills....

He didnt give me any meds and I am still getting light headed.

I assume he cannot give me anything until after he figures out what is wrong with me but that doesnt hel me now.

I agree. I wouldn't take waterpills without a doctor.

I went through vertigo a few years ago complete with MRIs, etc. Definitely not fun.

Hope you get your answers soon. Chat Icon

Re: Water Pills

Today was a bad day - I was light headed and off balance for most of the day.

If you had Vertigo, what did the doctor prescribe you?

Re: Water Pills

Usually the use Meclazine, which is also known as anti vert or some of the anti nausea drugs for vertigo.

But I would go for the other tests anyway. I'd rather be sure that there isnt something more serious wrong.
