15 minute mile pace?

Do you need to be an experienced runner to run that pace?

Re: 15 minute mile pace?

I believe a 15 min/mile is more of a walking pace than a running pace. I am not fast by any means and I run 10Ks and longer at a 9 min/mile pace and shorter races at about a 8:30 pace.

Hope that helps...

Also, on my old running team there were pace groups up to about 12-13 min/mile. I'd say that would be a good pace for a beginner.

Thanks for the info (it's kinda what I figured but wanted to make sure). It's the pace required for the 5K Family Fun run at WDW during marathon weekend, so I assumed it had to be slow!!! Chat Icon

So like I said to someone, if I'm used to keeping up with my fast walking, 6'5" husband, I should be okay with that pace!!! Chat Icon
