So, I broke down crying at the gym today
My trainer told me that I am over training. I really didn't think that I was.
A few weeks ago, my back was hurting so I had to take it easy for a couple of weeks with that. Then, yesterday I pulled a muscle in my leg.
So, he told me that 5 days a week is too much and that I have to cut down to 3 with MAYBE one additional light day. He said that he has seen me working out when I'm not with him and I am working out too hard.
I started crying because I feel like if I only work out 3 or 4 days then I will get fat again. And he told me no, if I continue what I am doing, I will injur myself and not be able to work out for a long time then I'll get fat again. I know he's right, but still. I've lost so much and have come a really long way.
I don't ever want to feel like I did 60 lbs ago
This journey is really tough both physically and emotionally. It's really breaking me down
OK, pity post over

I have an inclination also to overdue things, and end up hurting myself. This time around, I've been doing a lot more just plain walking and pilates - I can do it for longer stretches of time without hurting myself, so maybe that's a nice alternative? On the days you don't have a strenuous workout, go for a 30-40 minute walk. Any little bit of activity helps

Awwww I think you're being a little too hard on yourself, but then again I really don't know what you went through, but I'm sure it warrants your feelings. But then again you have accomplished SO much already that it just proves your strength and willpower! So chin up and try not to be too hard on yourself!

keep your chin up, listen to your trainer, and keep focused. Don't try to be a hero at the gym, just work out the best of your abilities and you will be FINE. You are eating right and excersising, there is no reason why the weight will come back. Please don't injure yourself ... OH, and what gym are you going to???!!!

Steph I am sorry you had a tough time at the gym I am sure your trainer has only the best intentions for you and wants to make sure you won't hurt yourself.
You are doing AMAZING and it's okay to scale it back a bit. If you watch your diet and keep up the exercise you won't gain it back.

Thanks ladies. I know he just wants the best for me and I know he is 100% correct and I trust him. Not just because I pay him but because I know he truely cares about me and my well being.
It's just so much emotional stress and it's taking a physical toll on me.
Elbee: I go to NYHRC in the city.

Do you live in the city too? What if on the days you don't hit the gym you take a long walk? Go dancing on the weekend? .........the gym is not the only place to exercise effectively - You can still be active and burn calories on the days you're not pushing your body SO hard at the gym -
And as determined as you sound, I doubt you're sitting on the couch eating gallons of ice cream when you're not at the gym !!!

Why don't you do what he suggests but add in a day or two of yoga and pilates. If they do Pilates Reformer at your gym sign up for that. Your body will change I promise you! I did it when I was overweight and I totally saw a difference, even through the fluff.

Re: So, I broke down crying at the gym today
I also started to "over do it" at the gym. And my body would hurt. I had thought it was a good pain but then I would get sick or fatigue. So I cut back on going everyday and those days I dont go I just go for a walk or run in the park. It has helped alot. I dont pull muscles or get cramps anymore!
