she slept 8 hours!
She will be 8 weeks tomorrow!
Mind you this is after about 6 hours of on and off hysterical crying!!!
I don't know what it is, but just about everyday at 4pm she gets so fussy and gets SOOOOOOOOOO worked up. If she does go down for a nap she wakes in minutes crying. The way she cries you'd think we were pulling her nails out. But then she finally goes down between 9:30 & 10:30pm.
Last night slept 10pm-6am!!!!!!!! And she went back to sleep at 7:15am and still is asleep!!!

Re: she slept 8 hours!
That used to be us! 4pm was the "witching" hour I called it. It was awful. It happened just like you said and she has never turned back-she sleeps 10 hours a night so I hope this is the beginning of a new trend for you!

Re: she slept 8 hours!
LOL, i call it her Witching Hour too..sometimes it rhymes with witch, but starts with a B
Every week older, she's been building to an hour more, so let's it just keeps getting better!
I do EBF. I never had to wake her at night. My pediatrician was so happy with her weight gain (she was over her birth wt at the 1st visit) so she told me that I do not have to wake her for feedings & to let her wake me.

Re: she slept 8 hours!
That's exactly what my DD does 8 (sometimes 9 hours) from 10-6 and then back down to sleep after eating for sometimes up to 3 hours. Isn't it wonderful? My DD also gets pretty cranky after 4ish and has a hard time sleeping. After reading Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child, I think it is because she is overtired. She really needs to nap at least every 2 hours for her to make it through the evening without screaming. She usually naps easily in the morning and early afternoon but I keep trying in the later afternoon and evening and usually I can get 30-45 min naps that keep us all sane. I also use the Miracle Blanket for naps now because otherwise I get 0 min!

Re: she slept 8 hours!
Yes I read that book too, and now working on finishing Happiest Baby on the Block.
I try to catch her before she gets over tired or stimulated. I usually watch the clock when she wakes and I try to get her wrapped and relaxing around an hour or so after waking.
I use the halo or swaddleMe for daytime and miracle blanket for night or when she is really fussy!

Lucky you! That seems like a foreign concept to me. I feel like I'll be when he does 4 hours and he is 2 months today. Maybe your DD needs to give Ryan a little talk Congrats!

Re: she slept 8 hours!
Oh this was awful. I remember DS doing this almost every night for awhile. Sorry to say, but he stopped close to 4 months. Every child is different though, so maybe it will stop sooner. But he would often sleep through the night if he had one of his witching afternoons, which I thought was only fair to everyone concerned!
Happiest Baby is good. I have to look for Healthy Child, Healthy Sleep Habits since he still has napping issues.

that's awesome! i hope ella will sleep more soon. i don't wake her to nurse, but she wakes herself at 3-4 hours. the one time she did sleep six hours, however, i was so engorged it almost wasn't worth it.

Re: she slept 8 hours!
Jen you are lucky girl!
I don't want to jinx myself but Gavin slept from 11:30 pm - 5:30 am. Hopefully that will continue.
He got up and I nursed him, he fell asleep, I came down made coffee, had oatmeal and when back up and slept with him for another hour or so.
It was heaven!
