AF and pregnant??

My mom told me when she was pregnant with me she had her period for the first two months?...Can this be possible??

It is not actually your period, but it can be mistaken as such. It is very rare for it to happen.

There can be some bleeding, but not a full-blown AF. The bleeding would be a lot lighter than a regular period.

actually this happened to my mom tooo ~ with my brother she did not find out until she was 11 weeks pregnant!

I was just talking to my friend about this. I said what if i am preggo and I had AF last month. I have so many pimples on my forehead (never had & thank god my hair covers them) and i always feel bloated. What is going on here??

Early pregnancy bleeding is not at all uncommon and many women report that they do bleed regularly during the early portion of their pregnancies. This is not at all a menstrual cycle though; it is usually referred to as early pregnancy bleeding. This bleeding is usually is due to hormonal changes and is not of the quantities of blood that a woman typically sees when having her normal menstrual period. Early pregnancy bleeding can vary in amounts from slight spotting to vaginal bleeding consistent with a menstrual cycle.

Another reason for bleeding during pregnancy is something called implantation bleeding. This bleeding usually takes place when the embryo is attaching to the wall of the uterus. This type of bleeding is ordinarily seen five days after conception, so it is easy to see why a woman would confuse this bleeding with her menstrual cycle and there may be some difficulty in determining when the last menstrual period was. Implantation bleeding is not all that common and usually is not more than a slight spotting or a pinkish red colored mucus, but occasionally there is more bleeding associated with it.

My mother had a full blown period the first 3 months with my brother. This is why she thought the Dr was crazy when he told her she was PG.

My SIL just went thru an ectopic pregnancy...she didn't even know she was pregnant....apperantly she was 7 weeks pregnant (they just removed her left tube which ruptured)...she had full AF just 3 weeks ago.....so yes, I guess it is possible....

it's possible to bleed. I don't know if it's menses but I know it can happen.

I had bleeding for several months. I also had a few different things happen while I was PG. Early in my PG I had implantation bleeding. Then I had a cyst rupture and bleed. Then finally I had a complete previa, so I bled almost my entire PG.

This is an old post, but I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this, or has known someone who has. I got AF, but it was very light and very short...very different than any other month, and I am starting to wonder...
