How many pages will you read until you give up on a book?
I am reading Second Glance by Jodi Picult. It is so boring and there are so many characters to keep track of. I am on page 91 and really thinking of giving up

For what it's worth I gave up on that one half way through. It was my least fav. Jodi Picoult!
I just read about 600 of the 900 pages of Pillars of the Earth and gave up. Admittedly I started skimming at 400.
If you're not feeling it, go for something else.

Depends...I've given up after the 1st chapter on some. If I don't like it usually I will try but when it gets to the point of being a chore to read I quit

I read about 100 pages of Atonement before I gave up on it. It was so unbelievably slow.

Generally, I'll read about 20-25% of the book before I give up but sometimes sooner.

It's different every time. My mother is a (retired) librarian and even she says to give up if a book is not grabbing you. She always said that there are so many books that you may as well move on to another one if you are not getting anything out of something you are reading. I still try but I often get 3/4 of the way through then realize I am just torturing myself.

Ive only given up on two.. and got through about 2/3 of each one. Eat, Pray, Love and the one by the author of Devil Wears Prada, her second book. So awful I can't even remember the name

I can usually tell in the first 2 chapters if it's not my thing. Sometimes even in the first few pages.
