I would say at least 8-12, depending on your menu. What other items do you have on your menu?

Plenty of other things - we are hosting DS's baptism later this month. We are having it catered by Iavarone but I refuse to pay for something as simple to make as baked ziti.

We'll probably have between 50-60 guests (ca. 10 kids included in that).

So far, we're getting a 6ft hero, tossed salad, tray of sausage & peppers, eggplant parm, chicken francaise and then buying a big bag of chicken nuggets for the kids (and maybe doing a pound or two of plain pasta for the fussy kids).

I am so bad at telling how much something can feed so many people. I always remember the rule 1 pound of pasta feeds 3-4 people.

1 lb feeds 4 people , so 4 lbs would feed 16. I would make about 2-3 trays for the amount of people you are having,
esp if you have other things to serve.

People will probably only have a scoopful.
And I dont blame you for not wanting to pay- the price is ridiculous for such a simple thing to make!

I think the 4lb tray would be sufficient with the amount of other food you are having
