chicken provencal stew.
im making a new recipe in my crock pot this week. now this is the recipe:
whole chicken
potatoes
onions
garlic
green pepper
1 can plum tomatoes
red wine
italian sesoning
parsly flakes
can i substitute chicken broth instead of the plum tomatoes?? my dh HATES anything tomatoe. tia

No, it wouldn't be provencale then. I mean, you could if you wanted to, and I'm sure it'd taste fine.
Is it that your DH doesn't like the texture of tomatoes, or just the taste? My DH likes the taste, but not the texture (he doesn't like chunky tomatoes, so I have to puree' my canned tomatoes). Maybe you can do that?
