Anyone know where the Lohan's live in Merrick??
I just watched the first episode of Living Lohan-- and having grown up in Merrick, I cannot figure out where the hell their house is... Anyone know?

Yeah it is right next door to Old Mill-there is a gate and very long driveway-- It is all the way in North Merrick, before Jerusalem Ave.

Okay.. I just made Dh drive me by. We live like 5 mintues away..
Can I say how weird that was. With all their money, why stay there? The neighborhood was just like any normal neighborhood and then there is this huge house on a not so huge lot, sideways or slanted with a big driveway. I just think, why not get a big mansion in Brookville or something? Why North Merrick? Or even go to South Merrick and get a house on the water. I really just don't get it. The house was obviously either rebuilt after they made money, or bought after it. So... I don't know
And I swear I am not being snobby. I am from Seaford and live in North Bellmore. I just really think that it is such a normal neighborhood that thier house stands out. Don't they want a little privacy?

and i heard that house is rented
look at the kitchen- they counters are laminate (that looks kinds of like granite)and the cabinets are old

Reeeeaaally? I haven't seen the show yet. I just dvr'ed it. I will have to look now. I have heard that Lindsey is broke. BUT how broke could she be. Like really poor broke, or like "the rest of us"?
when you watch it you will see....
Lindsay had to sell the 2 apartments she owned- she pretty much spent all of her money
her Mom had to set up a payment plan with the last rehab she went too
I am sure she has some money- but she is not super rich - it's pretty sad

I drove past it too last year to see what they were living in and it didn't seem that spectacular to me. The show shows them with normal stuff like we would have maybe alittle upgraded but not by much. I don't think they have the money anymore like they used to.
The one family that did impress me and I don't know if they still live there were The Gotti's that live in Old Westbury. They lived a block away from DH's grandfather and i used to pass that house all the time until his death last year. That house is immaculate and when they were filming the show you can see the trucks around.

One of my coworkers used to live across the street from them when the whole family lived with the grandparents. She told me that they were totally WT and the cops were there all the time for domestic disputes. They bought that house only recently, like 3 years ago. They were in crazy debt for years b/c the father embezzled money and was a real low-life.

The reason you could not figure out where the house was from the show is because that is what reality TV shows do. They make it look like someone is going somewhere and they may even show the roads but it is ALL staged. Even when they are in a house, they will make it look like rooms that are not on the same floor are on the same floor. When they show a celebrity in their home, you may or may not be seeing a home that they use for purposes other than TV. As for this house being in N.Merrick, someone asked, don't the Lohan's want privacy? The answer is NO. They need to stay visible to make money and they know it. It's a sad life.

ETA: The way the show portrays their house...it makes it seems like it is in a gates community but it's not. It's on a normal block with nice homes. The kids go to Merrick schools also, unless that has changed recently with their popularity

The taxes are crazy for that area
according to the info online
its on 37679 sq feet wich is just under an acre of land
it says it is 4119 sq feet
it was bought in 2003 for 650k
And it looks like it was redone in 2004 from what it says
The general property taxes are
$9,682.29
and the schoold taxes are
$21,723.40
So its over 31k in taxes, they also dont have any exemptions, not even basic star
its valued at 1.5 million

I was thinking the same thing watching it. I guess this is how Lindsay started out and now that she isn't racking it in anymore she moved onto her lil sis. She didn't even have that good of a voice when she was trying to sing one of the songs. It is a shame.
