How do you deal with difficult parents?
How do you answer that question on an interview?
Question #2: What do you do with the parent that is uninvolved in their child's education?

Re: How do you deal with difficult parents?
I make numerous phone calls, especially to spread good news. I also send letters inviting them into theclassroom. I am very persistant and do not give up on the child or the parent.

Re: How do you deal with difficult parents?
You just try and get that parent (s) as involved as possible and make every opportunity to welcome them into the classroom. Invite them on field trips, call to see if they are coming to parent/teacher conferences, send home good news letters etc.
In reality does it work...in my experience it doesn't. I have a child who I have had for two years....Have yet to meet her mother It's very sad.

Re: How do you deal with difficult parents?
I try and be open as possible. I was b*tched out though earlier this year by a mom and I refuse to call her back. If she comes in to talk to me, I will sit down with another teacher or guidance counselor there and then talk to her.
