i REALLY REALLY want a yorkie!
and DH thinks the dog will be lonely because we both work, but i can come home during the day and check on him
And we live in an apartment, but a yorkie is only a few pounds and i did a survey that yorkie was one of the top 3 dogs we should get.
Anyone else have one?
Any suggestions?
TIA!

yorkies are great apartment dogs, but they definatly need alot of attention. if you cna come home and check on it then thats great, otherwise i'd hold off til you can be around alot.

Re: i REALLY REALLY want a yorkie!
Most yorkies have severe separation anxiety. Ours like to starve himself until we come home if we leave for the day. When we leave him w/my mother who he LOVES, he still sometimes goes on strike and doesn't want to eat or be around anyone. Its really sad. He can hold out for almost 3 days. When we first took him to the vet & the vet witnessed what a momma's boy he was, he actually said, don't ever leave him in a kennel because he might try to starve himself. I don't know if you plan on having kids but yorkies have a bad reputation with them so that might be something to think about also. Our yorkie loves kids and so do the other 5 or 6 yorkies that we're around but many books and websites would say otherwise. HTH.
