I hate my mattress
It is practically brand new.. we have had it maybe 4 months & it kills both of our backs. We wake up with stiff backs almost everyday. We think the mattress pad is too soft for us so we were thinking of flipping the mattress so the padded side is underneath ... Has anyone tried this?

Re: I hate my mattress
Most new mattresses are only one sided "no flip" mattresses. You should check that out before trying it.
Honestly, I would call wherever you got it from and let them know of the issue. They may swap it out for you for a small fee.

darn, I didn't see that it said that anywhere on the mattress when we put it on the bed.. but I also wasn't looking for that.

Where did you get the mattress from?
Most companies will offer you a comfort exchange policy.

Re: I hate my mattress
My DH and I had the same problem, but didn't do anything about it for @ 2 years. Recently we decided to upgrade to a king size. I took my receipt to the store where I purchased our mattress from and explained to them my disappointment in our current mattress. After "bargaining" back and forth..they ended up refunding us the total purchase price of our first mattress and we put that toward the purchase of a king size mattress.

I would def. go back to the store and explain the problem. You might be able to exchange it. Worst case scenario, sell it on craigslist or ebay and buy a new one.

Re: I hate my mattress
I purchased it at Sleepys on Glen Cove Rd. Thanks, I am going to talk to DH about it & try to figure something out.
It was a really expensive mattress & it really hurts to sleep on it.

What mattress do you have? I hate my mattress too. DH and I bought a Miralux mattress from sleepys about a year ago and it was fine the first few months but now we wake up with back pain every day.

we had and still having the same problem!!
we also purchased our mattress from Sleepys. we noticed that the mattress was sinking. we actually felt the springs after maybe a lil of over a year. we called Sleepys. they sent someone over to take pictures of the mattress and box. the guy was pretty good. he actually used his hands to bounce the mattress (they're not allow to lay on it). we got credit for the whole amt we paid for in the mail. went to the store to pick out a new mattress. of course, they don't have the one we were using so we picked a similiar one and paid the difference (think it was like $200).
now less than 6 months later, same problem. this time a different guy came over to do the assessment. didn't even touch the mattress but just took pictures. got a letter saying that our mattress was fine. DH called and complained. they told us to call back in 30 days to schedule someone to come by and check again i wake up with back pains every freakin day.
i will never buy from them again. the guy that did the assessment is an independent contractor for sleepys and said that he's VERY busy. WTH!
ETA: i would jump on the bed a few times to sag it a little before letting the contractor in. just in case if he doesn't take the time to push on the mattress before taking pictures. otherwise u'll have to wait 30 days to reschedule for someone to come out again.

I had gotten my mattress from Sleepys as well. Wouldn't hurt to go there and complain. See what they can do for you in terms of putting the cost of the mattress toward a new one.

We purchased a Stearns & Foster. What are you two going to do about your mattress?

I do feel that our mattress has sunk where we lay on the bed. IS this normal? I have no clue but I don't think so for having it just 4 months.

definiately not normal. u should call and complain. our first mattress took about 1 yr to sag, about 4 months for the second. it's ridiculous to switch mattress every yr or so (and to pay the difference), when it should last for years.
