Need Help Please
A couple of months ago I added my husband to my car insurance policy and the insurance company cancelled his old policy. A month later we get a letter from the DMV saying that they have a record of the cancellation but not of the new policy and that they will cancel his registration. It says that we can mail a copy of his insurance card which we did. Today we got another letter from the DMV saying that they have no record of his insurance and they are cancelling his registration as of June 3rd.
I am going to call my ins. co and have them notify the DMV tomorrow but what proof do we have that they were really notified? Can we call the DMV to check or something? I happen to be off tomorrow so if I have to I can bring his insurance card in myself so I know they got it but can I bring it in or does he have to bring it in himself?

Re: Need Help Please
ASk your insurance Company to fax you a copy of the letter they sent to the DMV. Or, ask the Ins. Company for a Certificate of Insurance, and you can bring it down to DMV if necessary.
It S ucks going to teh DMV....esp a friday before the holiday weekend!
Good Luck!
