omg
i just ate tomatoe in my thai fried rice - it didn't even register until i was almost completly finished......
why tf would they have put those in there ????? I am soo mad at myself now....ggggrrrrr
do you think I will be ok?

its not all tomatoes--its only some tomatoes and mostly those that are raw.
i think its some plum and roma tomatoes that have issues

since it is now in my belly I can say 100% if it was cooked or not - but everytime I have gotten before it was just lightly cooked - still almost raw.
Thsi is what I get for scarffing lunch at my desk and not paying attention.
You will notice I am also on TTC board... please pray for me I am scared now.

I don't think there were any cases reported in NY ..........I'm sure you are fine. Don't stress yourself out !!

I'm watching the news and they reported the outbreak is now in 23 states with 228 cases of illness. Today NY was added to the list, but they aren't sure if the person ate the tomato in NY or another area and came to NY later.
The stated the tomato's to stay away from are:
Red Roma
Red Plum
Red Round
To the original poster,I'm sure you will be OK and like Marisa stated, try not to stress yourself out.

seriously, I don't take this whole FDA tomato spooking too seriously.
the thing they seldom mention in this hysteria is that the contamination has been around at least since march or april! so, all of those tomatoes we've been munching on over the spring are all 'possibly contaminated'. If it were a serious problem, there would be a much larger problem than just 1 person in NYS getting ill.
so, don't worry too much about it! just buy vine tomatoes for home.....
