Pella or Anderson??
Our first major purchase for our home is going to be new windows. We have about 17 so it is going to cost a ton, plus we went a bay window for our living room.
Any opinions on Pella vs. Anderson? I hear mixed things about Pellas - some say they are the best, some say they their quality has declined.

Re: Pella or Anderson??
My parents has Anderson in our house growing up and they are fantastic windows.
My DH and I priced a bay window from Pella and could not believe how much more a Pella window was compared to an Anderson.
Personally I think they are both great windows and you wont go wrong with either one.
Pella offers the windows with the blinds built in (which is what my DH and I wanted....guess thats why it was so much $$$ ) where Anderson doesnt have that.

Re: Pella or Anderson??
i have andersons and so for so good.
My inlaws have pella, and they are good, but i am not crazy about the style they have or hte color, i like the windows that open up and down, and they have the crank outs. The locks and the cranks are weird and seem very flimsy, and they fly off all the time.
A good feature is hte blinds built in. i have to say its nice, but then you dont have to have window treatments.

Re: Pella or Anderson??
We chose Pella for all our window replacements and are very happy. We got them at Lowe's. I think HD carries the Anderson.

Re: Pella or Anderson??
My parents swear by Pella, a few years back they replace all the windows with the ones that have blinds build in. It's really cool!

Re: Pella or Anderson??
We went with Anderson Windows and my parents have all Anderson windows. Neither of us have had problems and i love the crank outs. Also they have new cranks that fold so it is easier and nicer when you put in a blind.
I don't think you can go wrong with either choice it just depends how much you want to spend.

Re: Pella or Anderson??
My dad used to do contracting work and raved about the Pella windows, but they are $$$. For the money, he recommended Andersons to most people.

Re: Pella or Anderson??
I grew up with both and I love the Pella windows. They have the built in blinds (wind doesn't rattle them) and were a lot easier to open and close than the Andersons.
